Tyler The Creator Announces New Album 'IGOR' & Release Date

Tyler, The Creator has revealed that his brand-new album is entitled IGOR, and will be released May 17th by means of Columbia Records. This marks his very first release since his Grinch soundtrack album in 2015. Tyler shares that the title of his brand-new album will be, "IGOR" and reveals the release date for the project.

IGOR is out Friday, 17th May. Tyler took to social media to break the news by simply captioning his post with the release date and the album title. He also shared the artwork for the album. Can't wait, Flower Boy is one of my favorite albums released in recent years.

In between albums, Tyler, The Creator has released tracks such as: OKRA, 435, Peach Fuzz, and Lights On, and an EP titled Music Influenced by Lighting & Dr. Seuss' The Grinch. His album Flower Boy received critical acclaim and was recognized with a Grammy nomination.

Tyler announced IGOR suddenly on Twitter with two pieces of artwork. The first features a headshot of him captioned "ALL TUNES WRITTEN, PRODUCED, AND ARRANGED BY TYLER OKONMA." The second cover was created by Portland, Maine-based illustrator Lewis Rossignol.

The teaser for IGOR titled "a kid is a gun" does not reveal much but has generated a lot of anticipation. With just a few days to go until Tyler's new full-length project arrives, excitement is building for the IGOR experience.

Tyler is expected to headline Guv's Ball alongside SZA, Nas, and more. IGOR will be his fifth studio album and the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Flower Boy.

The new album is inspired by the character Igor from the 1974 film Young Frankenstein. While the title is yet to yield a full tracklist, fans are eager for more details and new music from Tyler.
